Aphorisms archive

The German aphorisms archive (Deutsches Aphorismus-Archiv) was founded in Hattingen in 2006 by a friends society and transferred to ULB in 2019.

It includes printed and unprinted resources from the aphorism genre. In addition to first editions and bound editions of German-language aphorists, articles, reviews and grey literature have also been collected. The collection moreover comprises autographs, private collections and correspondence of German aphorists, along with general research literature published independently in copy, offprint and microfilm.

The book holdings can be searched in the ULB catalogue under the call number slg260. The resources are currently being indexed in the Kalliope database.

The friends society organises regular conferences and publishes countless publications.
